Establishing a logical path in the reverse direction

The procedure for establishing a logical path in the reverse direction is the same as the procedure
for establishing a logical path in the forward direction. However, the following must be completed
before you can establish a logical path in the reverse direction:
A forward direction logical path must already be established.
For more information about this, see
A route list must be defined in the forward direction and a command device must be registered
in the local and remote storage systems.
For more information about these operations, see
environment" (page
A disk configuration definition file containing the command device at the secondary site must
be created.
This file is created from a secondary site local or remote scan.
CAUTION:
establish a path from the secondary site to the primary site will fail with an error (Manage Path
Set) during the path establishment step, even though a path set can be defined.

Deleting a logical path

You can select logical paths for deletion by specifying an attribute for the share in the SHR in the
Edit Logical Path Definition ISPF panel.
Specifying Y in the SHR deletes the path only when the FORCE parameter is specified. Specifying
N in the SHR always deletes the path regardless of whether the FORCE parameter is specified.
CAUTION:
same logical path is defined in more than one path set definition file, do not delete shared paths
until the operations on all copy groups have finished.

Setting up the Remote DKC Control Function environment

Verify that the following conditions are in place before defining the Remote DKC Control Function
environment:
The storage system at the primary site is already connected to the storage system at the
secondary site via FCP link.
A disk configuration definition file has been created for the storage systems on the primary
and secondary sites.
An inter-disk controller logical path is already established between the storage systems in each
of which a command device is to be registered.
To set up the Remote DKC Control Function environment:
1.
For XP1024/XP128 Disk Array only, initialize the volume for the command device.
