Cleaning at
Installation
Note!
By pressing the <Pause> and <On
Line> keys during power up, you will
enter a special "Service Man Mode".
The operator should only enter this mode
for installation cleaning as described in
this chapter. All other facilities in the
Service Man Mode are intended for
trained service personnel only.
Note!
If the keys are operated incorrectly,
press the <On Line> key to return the
display to "OFF LINE" and start the
procedure from the beginning again.
(Pressing the <On Line> key once in the
Service Man Mode or twice in the User
Mode returns the display to "OFF
LINE").

Conduct cleaning according to the following procedure in the
Service Man Mode at the time of installation.
. Continuing from chapter 4.4, the display panel shows:

01 OFF LINE
. Press the <Menu> key.

Maintenance Mode
. Press the <Enter> key.

SETUP CLEANING
. Press the <Enter> key again.

TUBE CONNECT OK?
. Check again that the printhead tubes have been connected, see

chapter 4.3. Press the <Enter> key again.
. After the cleaning process is started, the following message is

displayed for about 4 minutes.
NOW CLEANING
. When cleaning is completed, this message appears:

SETUP CLEANING
. About 1 minute after the completion of the setup cleaning
8
process, the operation sound stops. Then turn OFF the power
switch.
. Open the front cover and PHS unit and remove the taped paper
9
towels. Close the PHS unit and front cover and install the PHS
cover.
