Intermec ColorCoder V4 – Installation & Operation Ed. 1
Test labels are designed for a 4 3 inch (101.6 76.2 mm) paper,
which may cause a part of the document not to be printed on the
paper below 4 3 inches in size. It is recommended that paper equal
to, or larger than 4 3 inches be used.
Inspect the last of the three identical test labels ordered using the
"Noz. Adj.Pattern" menu, as described in chapter 4.10. The reason
for using the last one is that there may be small differences between
the labels, when the printer starts feeding the paper. The label looks
like the example below (in the printed manual the labels are
reproduced in black & white).
Vertical Register Pattern
The vertical register pattern helps detecting misalignment between
colours in the direction along the paper web. Imagine printing a line
across the paper web in all four colours. Since the four printheads
(one for each colour) are fitted evenly spaced along the feed
direction (see illustration in chapter 4.12), the paper feed and the
printing must be coordinated so the ink is ejected from each
printhead at the exact moment when the position of the line passes
the printhead in question. Any misalignment would result in two or
more lines in different colours next to each other.
Adjustment is performed by means of menus in the printer's control
panel as described in chapter 4.12 "Print Position Alignment".
When adjusting the vertical position, always start by aligning the
black colour (K) with the label, so the black rectangle fits inside the
label (T–K gap). Black (K) will then serve as a reference for the
other colours. If necessary, go back and print more test labels until
the T–K gap is OK.
