Setting example
In a two-module configuration of a programmable controller CPU and a MELSEC-Q series SECS/GEM communication
software pre-installed model module, set 256 points and 1024 points for M device and D device respectively for the auto
refresh area of the CPU shared memory in each module.
This setting example is explained by comparing with settings in GX Works2.
As the numbers below show, shared memory settings of the SECS/GEM communication software must correspond with
"Communication Area Setting (Refresh Setting)" in GX Works2.
In addition, when selecting "Setting 1" for "Change Screens" in "Communication Area Setting (Refresh Setting)" and setting
values, these values must be configured in the first line of "Shared Memory" in shared memory settings.

(1) The PLC number in GX Works2 and the CPU number in the SECS/GEM communication software must be the same.
Example: When setting "PLC No.1" for a CPU module in GX Works2, set '1' for a CPU number in the SECS/GEM communication software.
(2) A device set in GX Works2 and a device set in the SECS/GEM communication software must be the same.
Example: When setting an M device for a CPU module in GX Works2, set 'M' for a device in the SECS/GEM communication software.
(3) The start device number of the auto refresh area in GX Works2 and the start memory number in the SECS/GEM communication software must be the
same.
Example: When setting '0' for the start number of the auto refresh area in GX Works2, set '0' for "Memory Start" in SECS/GEM communication
software.
(4) The start device set in GX Works2 and the start device set in SECS/GEM communication software must be the same.
Example: When setting 'M0' for the start device in GX Works2, set '0' for "Device Start" in the SECS/GEM communication software.
(5) The number of points set in GX Works2 and the number of points (words) set in the SECS/GEM communication software must be the same.
Example: When setting '16' for the number of points in GX Works2, set '16' for "Points(Words)" in the SECS/GEM communication software.
