Uninstallation

This section explains the method for uninstalling a setting tool and the SECS/GEM communication software.

Setting tool

A setting tool can be uninstalled from a personal computer by any of the following methods:
• Uninstalling from the control panel of Windows
• Removing the setting tool from the product CD-ROM
Preparation for removing the setting tool from the product CD-ROM
Check the followings before removing the setting tool from the product CD-ROM.
• Log in as an administrator user to uninstall the setting tool.
• Do not run multiple installers at the same time. Doing so may cause the uninstallation to be completed with an error. If the
uninstallation fails, uninstall the setting tool again.
• If the confirmation screen for User Account Control appears while uninstalling the setting tool, click "Allow" or the [Yes]
button to proceed with the uninstallation.
• Run the installer with the same version as the installed SECS/GEM communication software to remove the setting tool.
Removing the setting tool from the product CD-ROM
The following procedure shows an example for removing the setting tool of Q12DCCPU-V-BZ15 from Windows 10.
This procedure is equivalent to uninstalling the setting tool from the control panel of Windows.

Insert the product CD-ROM into a personal computer.
The setup wizard starts.
If the setup wizard does not start, double-click 'setup.exe' in the "CA-SECS for GEM ADVANCED"
ROM.
