Air conditioning systems may occasionally become
contaminated with solid particles. This contamina-
tion may be the result of allowing dirt to enter the
system while it was open, from aluminium corrosion
or sludge, or from disintegrated compressor reed
plates. Contamination of this nature can result in
plugged evaporators, condensers and expansion
valves.
Flush System with dry nitrogen.
Each individual component must be flushed after
disconnecting every hose fitting.
The compressor and expansion valve can not be
flushed, therefore, the compressor should be disas-
sembled and cleaned or replaced and the expan-
sion valve should be replaced. When flushing the
system always replace the receiver/drier.
