Transmission - Troubleshooting

Problem
The vehicle does not
move.
The vehicle has a reduced
power transmission.
8 - TROUBLESHOOTING
Possible Cause
Control valve supply problem.
Damaged connections of transmission and
vehicle wiring harness.
Oxidation in the contacts of the electric ca-
bles of the wiring harness.
Interruption of the electric cable.
Damage to the solenoids/solenoid valves. Replace the solenoids.
Damage to sensors.
Short circuits or bad contact.
EGM/ECU gearshift electronic control op-
eration fault (only for powershift models).
Incorrect oil level.
Check for possible oil leaks.
Suction strainer restriction.
Damaged oil pump.
Damaged oil pump pressure relief valve.
Damaged/restricted filter.
Damaged / stuck control valve.
Damaged converter.
Oil temperature below 0 °C (32 °F).
Damaged rotating seals.
Damaged synchronizers (only for power
shuttle models).
Stuck shuttle lever.
Excessively worn-out clutch assembly.
Lack of motion transmission (broken gears,
shafts, bearings, etc.).
The brake does not release.
Incorrect oil temperature.
Transmission oil overheating.
Incorrect operating pressures.
Damaged converter.
Incorrect oil level.
Worn-out clutch assembly.
4WD fails to engage.
Overheated solenoids/solenoid valves.
Check and, if necessary, replace the con-
trol valves.
Repair and, if necessary, replace the wiring
harness.
Clean the contacts.
Replace the electric cable.
Replace sensors.
Check and, if necessary, replace the fuses.
Replace the EGM/ECU gearshift electronic
control (only for powershift models).
Restore the oil level.
Eliminate the leaks and restore the oil level.
Clean the suction strainer.
Replace the oil pump.
Replace the oil pump.
Replace the filter.
Replace the control valve.
Replace the converter.
Wait for the operating temperature to be
reached (stall test).
Replace the rotating seals.
Replace the synchronizers (only for power
shuttle models).
Repair the shuttle lever.
Repair and, if necessary, replace the clutch
assembly.
Check, repair and, if necessary, replace.
.
• Check the general pressure of
transmission.
• Check voltage.
• Check the operation of the solenoid
valve.
• Check the mounting of the brake
solenoid valve block after operating on
the brake.
• After the above-described verifications,
disassemble the brake cover and
check the condition of the parts for
unlocking/locking the brake (Teflon
seals, Belleville washers, brake disc
deformation, etc.).
Wait for the operating temperature to be
reached (stall test).
Restore acceptable temperature values.
Check the hydraulic circuit and replace (oil
pump, filters, control valve).
Replace the converter.
Restore the oil level.
Replace/repair.
Repair/replace the 4WD shaft assembly.
Replace.
