When a trouble condition is detected, LambdaXtreme
isolates the failed circuit pack or signal.
Failures are reported to a local technician and operations system for
repair.
The control system examines the indications it receives and
determines the most probable cause for the failure (that is, circuit
pack or control link). Control failures are automatically alarmed
through equipment and office alarm relays. This alarming is fail safe
to ensure that the CIT is notified regardless of the effect of the failure
on other control functions.
When a trouble condition is cleared, automatic diagnostics reevaluate
the related defects in order to isolate another possibly failed circuit
pack or signal.
