Installation
Connect the tinned wires to the contact closure
outputs of the controller, sampling injector, fraction
collector, or pump according to that device's
instruction manual. Be sure to match ground
connections.
To determine the state of the detector's event or
autozero input contact, use the status mode or the
appropriate GSIOC command (refer to
Operation
or
Appendix D, GSIOC
Contact-activated functions
In single and dual wavelength modes:
• a remote event contact causes a negative spike
to appear in the analog output
If the event is sent via the GSIOC to Gilson
control software (using a Gilson 506C System
Interface), a positive spike or event mark
appears on the time line.
• a remote zero contact resets the trace of all
absorbance channels to zero and the percent
transmission output to 100%
In scan mode:
• a remote event contact initiates a wavelength
scan
• a remote zero contact resets the trace at the
monitor wavelength to zero and performs a
wavelength scan
When running a program file:
• a remote event contact resumes the run after a
wait
• a remote zero contact tells the detector to begin
a pre-selected program file, see page
