Optional Connections
GSIOC connection
If the detector is part of a Gilson HPLC system, the
GSIOC port is used to transfer information between
the detector and computer. The detector, and other
Gilson GSIOC devices, can convert the RS-232
signal levels used by computers to the RS-422/485
signal levels required by the GSIOC and vice versa.
When you connect the Gilson Serial I/O Channel
(GSIOC) between the detector and an HPLC
system controller, you can:
• issue detector commands directly from the
controller
• send detector data to the controller for analysis
• control and change detector setup parameters
