Autozero Out of Range

This message results from high background
absorbance.
The detector cannot reduce the baseline to zero, but
will reduce the baseline as much as possible.
Operation continues during and after you receive
this message.
• Flow cell may be coated with highly absorbing
eluents. See pages
4-2
instructions.
• Alternatively, you may need to select a new
solvent system or monitor wavelength. Refer to
Mobile Phase Tips

Out of Range

• Check connections to recorder. Refer to recorder's
troubleshooting instructions.
• Check purity and UV/VIS-cutoff of solvents. Be
sure solvents are degassed, HPLC-grade solvents.
• There may be bubbles in the flow cell. Try one
of the following:

Increase back pressure on the cell by
connecting pressure regulator tubing to the
flow cell outlet.
-
Increase back pressure by raising flow rate
and using a syringe or septum to momentarily
block exit stream.
-
Flush flow cell using a syringe filled with
fresh solvent.
-
Raise the fraction collector vial to a level
higher than the flow cell.
