Knob 1
Use this command to format a floppy disk.
Important
• Formatting a disk causes loss of all data existing in that disk.
• You cannot format a floppy disk if the disk's "write protect" tab is enabled (if the
"window" on the disk casing is open).
FYI
The A3000's uses MS-DOS–compatible floppy-disk format.
Change Page
• Turn the knob to change to a different command page.
• Push the knob when you are ready to execute the format. The A3000 returns a confir-
mation screen. Push Knob 5 (>YES) to proceed with the format, or Knob 4 (>NO) to
cancel.
Type
• Use this knob to specify the disk type.
• Be sure that the setting matches the type of the disk you are using. Do not use 2HD
format on a 2DD disk, or 2DD format on a 2HD disk.
If you wish to change the name for the floppy disk, push Knob 4 or Knob 5 to proceed to
the name editing screen. For information about how to edit name strings, see "Entering
Names" ( 88).
