6.1 The SUVA-sensor technology
The SUVA-Sensor Technology is integrated into the thumb (Fig. 1) and instantly senses when a
gripped object changes position and begins to slip. The system then automatically and continu-
ously, starting from the original level, increases grip force until the object is again held securely.
6.2 FlexiGrip function
The FlexiGrip function allows the user to change the position of an object within the hand with-
out the need to open and close the hand using myo-control. The prosthetic hand follows the po-
sition shifts of an object such as a sound hand would. This gives the grip flexibility.
6.3 Programming function
In order to find the optimal adjustment you can choose between six programs. The programs
are identified by coding plugs of different color (Fig. 2). Upon delivery, the SensorHand Speed
is equipped with a black coding plug and preconfigured with program 1. For program selection,
plug in the 757T13 MyoSelect. If you prefer coding plugs for program selection, this is also pos-
sible.
6.4 Switching the SensorHand Speed ON and OFF
By pressing the cosmetic glove you can actuate the ON/OFF switch integrated into the control
electronics.
By pressing the back of the hand:
By pressing the thumb:
7 Adjusting the electrode(s)
The best possible function of the SensorHand Speed with SUVA-Sensor Technology is
achieved through optimal positioning and adjustment of the electrodes. This is easy with the
757M10/757M11=X-CHANGE Ottobock MyoBoy.
The electrodes should be placed on intact skin only and with as much electrode-skin contact as
possible. In the case of strong interferences from electric devices, the position of the electrodes
should be verified and, if need be, repositioned. If the interference cannot be eliminated, please
contact the Ottobock Myo-Service.
Attention!
Allow the patient to rest during the adjustment of the electrodes to avoid fatigue, and
thus incorrect electrode settings (i.e. excess sensitivity).
Programs 1, 5, and 6:
Select the desired program version in the MyoSoft or PAULA program. Adjust each electrode
so that the amputee can maintain the respective muscle signal for approximately two seconds
at a point above the value HIGH (Fig. 7, item 1).
Program 2:
Select the desired program version in the MyoSoft or PAULA program. Adjust each electrode
so that the amputee can maintain the respective muscle signal for approximately two seconds
at a point above the value LOW (Fig. 7, item 2).
Program 3:
Select the AutoControl mode for the SensorHand Speed in the MyoSoft or PAULA program.
Adjust each electrode so that the amputee can maintain the respective muscle signal for ap-
proximately two seconds at a point above the value ON (Fig. 8).
