ADJ 9.4 Decrease the lmage
Density
Purpose
The purpose is t o adjust the toner
concentration level t o decrease the image
density level.
There will be a time delay between the time
the code [0921-41 is entered and the time the
fuser drive motor starts to turn. The fuser
drive motor will not start until the fuser is at
the correct temperature.
STEP 3 B: Each time the up button is
pressed, the next higher LED will light,
indicating a higher control point
setting. A control point of 6.5 to 6.7 is
the highest sensor voltage that can be
attained. Do not move more than (2)
increments a t one time. This may result
i n a fault.
2. Enter the code [0921-41. 3. (Figure 1): Decrease the image density.
Prerequisite
The Electrostatic Series MUST be performed
prior t o performing the image density
adjustment t o ensure that all the parameters
are at nominal. Failure to do this may result
in premature failures or other damage due
t o excessive contamination.
Check
Refer to the lmage Quality Specifications in
Section 3 of this Service Manual. Check the
line darkness. The copy of the (0.7065)
pattern in the center of Test Pattern 82E5980
should be greater than or equal t o
paragraph 24 on Test Pattern 82E7030.
Q For a lower toner concentration
(decrease the image density), the
toner sensor voltage must be
increased.
