CQ 31 Erase LEDs
(WI Tag1 MOD 30) RAP
(1 21 97)
This RAP is used for copy quality problems
related t o the loss of light intensity from the
Photoreceptor Drum Erase LED' s . Copiers
equipped with Erase LED's are identified as
having Tag 30 (W/ 0 Tag/ MOD 30).
Initial Actions
Switch off and unplug the copier.
Ensure that all connectors are
correctly seated.
Ensure that the Erase LED's are clean
and properly installed.
Procedure
Set the meter t o measure
(

26 VDC).
Connect the (-) lead t o GND.
Plug i n and switch on the copier.
There is ( + 26 VDC) at Pin 12 of A2 P203 of
the LVPSl Driver (A2).

26 VDC at Pin 11 of A2 P203.

Replace the LVPY Driver (A*).
Go t o FLAG 1 and check for open or short
circuit i n the wires. If their is no problem
with the wires, replace the Erase LED
(DS1).
Enter the code [0966] while observing the
meter.
The voltage at Pin 12 of (A2 P203) changes
from approximately
(

26 VDC) t o less than
(1.0 VDC).

Replace the LVPSI Driver (A2) PWB.
If the problem persists, replace the
Controller PWB (A3).
The Erase LED' s are illuminated.

Replace the Erase LED ( M I ) .
Ensure that the Erase LED's are clean, then go t o
the Electrostatic Series adjustment (ADJ 9.2) and
verify that the Electrostatic settings are i n
specification.
Run 5 copies of Test Pattern 82E5980 and check
that the copy quality is i n specification.
