Description
This command configures the minimum interval, in seconds, that an ARP entry learned on the IP
interface is stored in the ARP table. ARP entries are automatically refreshed when an ARP request or
gratuitous ARP is seen from an IP host. Otherwise, the ARP entry is aged from the ARP table.
If the arp-timeout value is set to 0 s, ARP aging is disabled.
The no form of the command reverts to the default value.
Note: The 7705 SAR will attempt to refresh an ARP entry 30 s prior to its expiry. This refresh
attempt occurs only if the ARP timeout is set to 45 s or more.
