Check camshaft position sensor
a. Remove camshaft position sensor.
b. Check and clean camshaft position sensor and installation area, and check for damage, foreign matter and
excessive movement, etc. that cause signal incorrectness.
Clean installation area or replace

Replace ECM

Check engine speed sensor signal waveform
a. Turn ignition switch to ON, start the engine and observe the signal waveform of engine speed sensor with
an oscilloscope.
Oscilloscope
Go to step 15
OK

Check engine speed sensor connector
a. Turn ignition switch to LOCK.
b. Disconnect engine speed sensor connector E-016.
c. Check engine speed sensor connector.
Repair or replace engine speed sensor
