Web Based 1+1 Setup

The 1+1 Setup is an extension of the basic 1+0 setup. 1+1 hot standby utilizes two
GigaPlus units connected to a combiner to allow sharing of an antenna at each end of
the link. One of the units at each end is the main (active) unit and the other unit is in
standby, which means that it is ready to take over should the active unit fail.
This section assumes that the physical installation has been done already. Return to the
Installation section and connect the units in a 1+1 configuration if required.
1) Follow the steps for 1+0 on the main link as described above with the backup
units turned off.
2) Turn the standby radio units on, but ensure the opmode is off on both to avoid
disturbing the active link.
3) On the Active Link Config Page click the Failover Mode On (port off) button:
(On with ports on may be used as well, but both the active and standby will have
ports on and the standby will receive and forward all traffic out the enabled
Ethernet ports. If this method is used, it is imperative to have a network that is
capable of detecting and supporting this configuration.)
4) Repeat for the Active link other end unit.
5) Click the Config Save button at the lower left of any webpage – This must be
done on both sides of the link. Only the saved configuration will be synced
between the active and standby units.
6) Wait at least one minute for the election process to complete. The Active unit
will not find a standby, so it will continue to be the active.
7) Set the same failover mode on the spare radios to become standby units. They
will detect the Active units and the Active will sync the config to the standby
