NOTICE
Always replace the cover
Always replace the old cover. The old cover will let in water in the housing
causing damage to the friction brake.
The swing arms are equipped with friction brakes working as anti flutter
devices.
4. Remove the cover on the top of the swing arm.
5. Unscrew the screw.
6. Pull off the wheel fork.
7. Push out the friction brake with a steel rod (1/2 inch in diameter) or
equivalent.
Mounting friction brake
There are two versions of the friction brake depending on the type of
tire (solid or pneumatic) that the wheelchair is equipped with.
If the wheelchair is equipped with pneumatic tires, the "12 PCS"
friction brakes must be installed in the front swing arms.
If the wheelchair is equipped with solid tires, the "13 PCS" friction
brakes must be installed in the front swing arms.
The rear swing arms always use "12 PCS" friction brakes.
