Troubleshooting Flowchart - Interlock System - Shift Lock System
Shift lever cannot be moved
from the

position when the
brake pedal is pressed.

Operation:
Press the brake pedal.
Are
the
brake lights ON?
YES
Measure ILU Vottage:
,
.
Tum
the
ignition
switch ON (Ill,
and
shift
to
[f]
position.
2.
Press the brake pedal, and
release the accelerator
pedal.
3.
Measure the
voltage between
the A28 terminal and body
ground.
Is
there battery
voltage?
NO
Measure STOP SW Vottage:
1. Turn the
ignition switch OFF.
2.
Disconnect the
A
(32P) and B
(25P)
co
nnectors from
the
PCM.
3. Measure
the
voltage
between
the A32 and 820
or
822 termi-
nals
.
Is
there
battery
voltage?
YES

If the MIL is on, repair the PGM-FI control system
(see
section
11),
and
recheck.
