troubleshooting.'
Check
the
EVAP purge control
solenoid valve:
1.
Disconnect the vacuum hose
from
the
EVAP
control canis-
ter, and connect
a
vacuum
pump
to the hose.
2.
Turn the
ignition switch ON (Ill.
3.
Apply
vacuum to the
hose.

Does ehe
valve hold vacuum?

NO
Check the EVAP purge control
solenoid valve:
1.
Turn the
ignition switch OFF.
2.
Di
sconnect
the
EVAP
purge
control solenoid valve
2P
con-
nector.
3.
Check for continuity between
the
EVAP
purge control
solenoid valve
2P
connector
terminal No
.2
and
body
ground.
Is
there continuity?

/'
YES
Check for
8
short in the wire
(PCS line):
1.
Disconnect the
ECM
/
PCM
connector
A
(32P).
2.
Check for continuity
between
the
EVAP
purge
control
solenoid
valve
2P connector
terminal No
.
2
and
body
ground
.
Is there
continuity?
"-
NO
Substitute a known-good ECMI
PCM and recheek
.
If
symptoml
indication goes
away.
replace
the orlgln81 ECM/PCM.
YES
NO
