Indicator Light Does Not Come On
The

indicator light does
not come on when the ignition
switch is first turned ON
(II). (It
should come on for about two
seconds and then go out.)
Check the Service Check Con-
nector:
Make sure the special tool (SCS
Service Connector) is not con -
nected to the service check con-
nector.
Is the specia l tool (SCS Service
YES
Connector; connected to the ser-
vice check connector?
NO
Check the

NO
Check the Ground Circuit:
1.
Turn the ignition switch OFF ,
2. Disconnect the 8 (25P) con ·
nector from the peM.
3.
Check
for continuity between
the 820 terminal and body
ground. and between the B22
terminal and body ground .
NO
Is there continuity?
YES
Measure Power Supply Circuit
Voltage:
1. Turn the ignition switch ON
(II ).
2. Measure the voltage between
t e rminals 81 and 822 and
between terminals 89 and 820.
NO

Is there battery voltage?

YES

DisconnKt the special tool from
the servit:e check connector and
recheck.
Check for loose terminal fit in the
peM
connectors.
If
necessary .
substitute a known-good peM
and recheck.
