Troubleshooting Flowchart - Shift Control Solenoid Valve B
• aBO II Scan Tool indicates Code
Possible Cause
P0758.
• Disconnected shift control solenoid
• Satt-diagnosis
~
indicator light
valve AlB assembly connector
blinks eight times.
• Short or open in shift control sole-
noid valve B wire
• Faulty shift control solenoid valve B
Check and record the freeze data
in case it is needed later for prob-
lem verification.
If the Honda PGM
Tester is available:

Test solenoid valve B with the
Honda PGM Tester in the Func-
tion test mode.

Did the solenoid pass the test7

Check for a Short to Power:

Turn the ignition switch
OFF.
2. Disconnect the A (32P) and B
(25P) connectors from the PCM.
3.
Turn the ignition switch ON
(II).
4. Measure the voltage between
the 811 and A9 or A22 termi-
nals.

Is there voltage?

Measure Shift Control Solenoid
Valva B Resistance:

Turn the ignition switch
OFF.

Measure the resistance
between the 811 and A9 or
A22 terminals .
YES
Is the resistance 12 - 25

NO

Verify that all connectors in the
circuit are making good contact.

Check for loose terminal fit in the
PCM connectors. If necessary,
substitute a known-good sole-
noid valve assembly or PCM and
recheck.
