Brake Switch Signal
This signals the ECM(PCM when the brake pedal is depressed.
Inspection of Brake Switch Signal.
Are the brake lights on without
pressing the brake pedal?
NO
Press the brake pedal.
YES
NO
Do the brake lights come on? /,>-==---.j

Check for an open in the wire
IBKSWline):
1. Press the brake pedal.
2. Measure voltage between PCM
connector terminals D5 and A9
with the brake pedal pressed.
Is there battery voltage?
YES

Inspect the HORN, STOP (15 A)
fuse in the under-hood fusel relay
box.
Is the fuse OK?
YES
- Repair open in the wire be-
tween the brake switch and
the HORN. STOP (15 Alluse.
- Inspect the brake switch (see
section 19).
