3.9 Faulty LD Switch

Step
1
(Initial Check)
Are any parts dirty, broken, malformed, incorrectly
installed or different from those listed in the specifica-
tions?
• Principle Parts to be Checked:
(1) CRU sensor PWB, (2) MCU PWB
(3) CRU actuator, (4) EP toner cartridge
(5) Harness assembly CRU

(Check that the CRU actuator operates properly.)
Does the LD switch (S100) on the CRU sensor PWB turn
ON when the EP toner cartridge is installed, and does it
turn OFF when the EP toner cartridge is not installed?
• Turn OFF the power supply, remove or install the
EP toner cartridge and check that the CRU actuator
works properly.

(Check the EP toner cartridge.)
Is the protrusion on the EP toner cartridge correctly
positioned so that it moves the CRU actuator properly?

(Check the CRU sensor PWB.) *1
Is there continuity between P171-1PIN↔P171-2PIN
when the LD switch (S100) on the CRU sensor PWB
is ON, and is there no continuity when the LD switch
is OFF?

(Check the CRU harness assembly.)
Is there continuity between J17↔J171?
*1: Be sure connector P/J12 is disconnected from the MCU PWB.
