3.2 ROS Controller

3.2.1 Scanner Motor Operation

The ON/OFF control of the scanner motor in each operating mode is shown below.
Operating Mode

Non-volatile Settings Mode
The speed of the scanner motor displayed below is equal to the resolution which differs from that in the printer's
specifications.

3.2.2 ROS Warm Up

The scanner motor is rotating as the ROS begins warming up. When the break in the SOS signal is shorter than the
standard READY value three times in succession, the ROS will terminate its warm up operation. (The scanner
motor continues rotating at a constant speed.)

3.2.3 Standard ROS Values

Note:
Runaway of the scanner motor, in response to an increase in speed of over 1%, prevents the laser beam
from entering the SOS sensor. When the standard FAIL value is not attained, a U2 error message is
displayed.
ON/OFF Status of the Scanner Motor

When the power is turned ON, the scanner motor begins running
at the same time and remains ON.
