3.7 Faulty Exit Sensor

Step

(Initial Check)
Are any parts broken, malformed, incorrectly installed
or different from those listed in the specifications?
• Principle Parts to be Checked:
(1) Exit sensor, (2) Fuser assembly,
(3) MCU PWB, (4) Fuser harness assembly,
(5) LVPS assembly

(Check that power is supplied to the exit sensor.) *1
Is a voltage of 1.2VDC supplied between P13-1PIN
↔P13-2PIN?

(Check the ON signal for the exit sensor.) *1
Is a voltage of 5VDC supplied between
P13-3PIN↔P13-2PIN?

(Check the ON signal for the exit sensor.) *1
Is the voltage 0VDC between P/J13-3PIN↔P/J13-
2PIN when the exit sensor detects that paper is
present, and is a voltage of 5VDC supplied when the
exit sensor detects that paper is not present?

(Check the fuser harness assembly.)
Is there continuity between J13↔J132?
*1: Be sure the EP toner cartridge is installed and the front cover assembly is securely closed.
