(The paper is damp or wrinkled.)
Does the problem recur if new paper is used?

(The drive assembly is defective.)
Do the gears in the drive assembly that drive the EP
toner cartridge rotate normally?
• After executing diagnosis code 90, check that the
parts operate correctly.

(The image transfer process is malfunctioning.)
Is the image created by the toner correctly transferred
from the drum onto the paper?
• While printing, turn the power OFF at the point at
which you think the image is being transferred onto
the paper and check the image on the drum.

(The BCR or BTR on the EP toner cartridge is defective.)
Are there any irregularities, such as scratches, foreign
matter or grime, along the length of the BCR or BTR?
(If the problem is caused by a faulty BCR or BTR in the
EP toner cartridge, the white lines will appear at 47 mm
intervals.)

(The heat roller is defective.)
Are there any irregularities, such as scratches, foreign
matter or grime, along the length of the heat roller?
(If the problem is caused by a faulty heat roller, the
white lines will appear at 54 mm intervals.)

(The pressure roller is defective.)
Are there any irregularities, such as scratches, foreign
matter or grime, along the length of the pressure roller?
(If the problem is caused by a faulty pressure roller, the
white lines will appear at 53 mm intervals.)
White spaces in the print
(White lines where the image is too light or missing appear on the paper in a
direction perpendicular to the paper feed direction.)
Are any parts dirty, broken, malformed, incorrectly installed or different
from those listed in the specifications?
• Principle Parts to be Checked:
(1) EP toner cartridge, (2) HVPS, (3) MCU PWB, (4) Drive assembly
(5) Heat roller, (6) Pressure roller, (7) Fuser assembly, (8) ROS assembly

TROUBLESHOOTING

Remedy (if not normal)
Replace the paper.
(Instruct the user to store the paper in a
place where the humidity is low.)
See section 3.12 Faulty Drive Assembly.
See section 3.14 Faulty HVPS CR/TR/
DB.
Clean the BCR and BTR or replace the EP
toner cartridge.
Replace the heat roller.
Replace the pressure roller.
