3.3 Faulty Scanner Assembly

Step
1
(Initial Check)
Are any parts broken, malformed, incorrectly installed
or different from those listed in the specifications?
• Principle Parts to be Checked:
(1) ROS assembly, (2) MCU PWB
(3) ROS harness assembly, (4) LVPS assembly

(Check that power is supplied to the scanner assem-
bly.) *1
Is a voltage of 24VDC supplied between P/J12-
15PIN↔P/J12-14PIN?

(Check the ON signal for the scanner motor.) *1
Is the voltage 0VDC between P/J12-13PIN↔P/J12-
8PIN when test print mode is entered, and is the
voltage 4.1VDC after a U2 error occurs?

(Check the ON signal for the scanner motor.) *1
Is a voltage of 4.1VDC supplied between P/J12-
13PIN↔P/J12-8PIN when the power is turned ON?

(Check the ROS harness assembly.) *1
Is there continuity between J12↔J122?
*1: Be sure the EP toner cartridge is installed and the front cover assembly is securely closed.
