System Diagnostics

The ABS system has an on-board diagnostics feature
which al lows service techn icians to retrieve stored data
from the ECM using Triumph diag nostic software.
details of the Triumph diagnostic software operation
are given in the Triumph Diagnostic Tool User
Guide.
The software is connected, via an interface cable, to the
motorcycle using a dedicated diagnostic plug situated
u nder the seat. By using a dedicated pl ug, no electrical
connectors associated with the system are d isturbed,
red ucing potential connector damage.
The software al lows the user to retrieve data associated
with the system
sensors and actuators, test va rious
component fu nctions, read build data and make minor
adjustments to the set-up of the system. The data and
tests available a re described on the following pages.

To connect t h e Triumph diag nostic interface t o the
motorcycle, remove the pillion seat <see page 16-13>
and
release
the
diag nostic
locatin g ta ng.
2 .
Plug the diagnostic interface d i rectly i n to the
d iag nostic connector.
