Exhaust System

Removal
!
If the engine has recently been running, the exha ust
system will be hot. Before working on or near the
exhaust system, allow sufficient time for the exhaust
system to cool as touching any part of a hot exhaust
system could cause burn injuries.
1.
Remove the rider's seat (see page
2.
Disconnect the battery, negative (black> lead first.
3.
Release the clamp securing the silencer to the header
pipe.

Support the right hand silencer and release the bolt
and nut securing the silencer mounting bracket to
the rear frame.
Move the silencer rearwards to disengage it from the
header pipe and remove.

Remove the sump guard <see page
Z
Disconnect the oxygen sensor from the main
harness.
8.
Remove the radiator <see page
9.
Release the fixings securing the header pipe joints to
the cylinder head. Discard the fixings.
