Pinpoint Tests
Test
1 Check cable and terminal integrity:
- ECM pin A 1 1
- ECM pin B20
2 Check resistance val ue:
- ECM pin A 1 1 to ECM pin B20

3 Check cable continuity:
- ECM pin A 1 1 to sensor pin 1
- ECM pin B20 to sensor pin 2
4 Check cable for short circuit:
- ECM pin A 1 1 to ECM pin B20
5 Check sensor resistance:
- Sensor pin 1 to sensor pin 2

6 Check cable for short circuit:
- ECM pin A 1 1 to ground
7 Reconnect harness, clear fault code and run O K
engine to verify fault cleared

Disconnect temp sensor and proceed to test 3
Disconnect temp sensor and proceed to test 4
Proceed to test 5
Locate and rectify wiring fault, proceed to
test 7
Proceed to test 5
Locate and rectify wiring fau lt, proceed to
test 7
Proceed to test 7
Renew temp sensor, proceed to test 7
Proceed to test 7
Locate and rectify wiring fault, proceed to
test 7
