Fuel Level Sender Assembly
Removal
Remove the seat (see page 16-9).

Discon nect the battery, negative (black> lead first.

Remove the fuel pump and filter assembly (see page

10-93).
Working through the fuel pump apertu re, release

Refit the fuel l evel sender assembly to the fuel tan k
1.
ensuring that t h e u p per tang and two side tangs a re
correctly attached to the bracket inside the fuel tan k.
1. Upper tang
2. Side tangs
Routing the fuel level sender wiring over the fuel level
sender arm will prevent the sender arm from moving
through its fu l l range of movement, causing i ncorrect
fuel gauge readings.
Check that the fuel level sender wiring is not routed

over the fuel level sender a rm.
3. Refit t h e fuel p u m p and filter assembly <see page
10-101>.
Refil l the fuel ta n k with the fuel d ra ined earlier.

5. Reconnect the battery, positive (red> lead first.
Sta rt the engine and check carefu lly for fuel leaks.
6.
Rectify as necessary.
Refit the seat (see page 16-9).
