enable multinetting {proprietary | standard}
Description
Enables multinetting in the switch.
Syntax Description
proprietary
standard
Default
If neither keyword is used, then proprietary multinetting is enabled by default.
Usage Guidelines
Use this command to enable proprietary multinetting or standard multinetting in the switch.
Standard multinetting cannot be enabled in the switch when proprietary multinetting is enabled.
Proprietary multinetting cannot be enabled in the switch when standard multinetting is enabled.
Use the following command to disable multinetting:
disable multinetting
Example
The following command enables proprietary multinetting in the switch:
enable multinetting proprietary
History
This command was first available in ExtremeWare 2.0.
The proprietary and standard options were made available for this command in ExtremeWare 7.3.0.

Specifies that proprietary multinetting is to be enabled. The proprietary
keyword indicates that multinetting operation is done by creating VLANs with
dummy protocols and associating IP addresses with them. Proprietary
multinetting is the default value.
Specifies that standard multinetting is to be enabled. The standard keyword
indicates that multinetting operation is done by associating multiple IP subnets
with a single VLAN without using dummy-protocol based VLANs.
