Symptom
The OxiMax pulse oximetry sensor may be damaged;
replace the sensor.
If the condition persists, replace the Main Board PCB. See
Main Board PCB Replacement, page 179.
or pulse values
The OxiMax pulse oximetry sensor may be damp or may
2
have been reused too many times. Replace the sensor.
An electrosurgical unit (ESU) may be interfering with
performance:
Move the oximeter and its cables and OxiMax pulse
oximetry sensors as far from the ESU as possible.
Plug the oximeter power supply and the ESU into different
AC circuits.
Move the ESU ground pad as close to the surgical site as
possible and as far away from the OxiMax pulse oximetry
sensor as possible.
Verify the performance with the procedures detailed in
Operating the Oximeter, page 55.
If the condition persists, replace the Main Board PCB. See
Main Board PCB Replacement, page 179.
Table 31. Data Port Problems
Symptom
Confirm the printer is working through an alternate means.
The oximeter's baud rate does not match the printer.
Change the baud rate of the oximeter following
instructions in Configuring the Data Port Interface, page 84.
If the condition persists, replace the Main Board PCB. See
Main Board PCB Replacement, page 179.
Verify the connections are made between pins 5 (GND) and
11 (nurse call) of the data port. See Using the Nurse Call
Interface, page 93.
Verify the output voltage between ground pin 5 and pin 11
is -5 to -12 VDC (no alarm) and +5 to +12 VDC (during
alarm). See Using the Nurse Call Interface, page 93.
If the condition persists, replace the Main Board PCB. See
Main Board PCB Replacement, page 179.
