Performance Considerations
vasoconstriction. Max-Fast pulse oximetry sensors work particularly well on supine
patients and mechanically ventilated patients. During low perfusion conditions,
Max-Fast pulse oximetry sensors reflect changes to the SpO
than digit sensors. If the Max-Fast pulse oximetry sensor is not available, consider
using the OxiMax™ Max-R adhesive nasal sensor. It obtains extremely accurate
measurements from a nasal artery supplied by the internal carotid that
demonstrates less vasoconstriction than the peripheral vessels. This sensor may
obtain measurements even when peripheral perfusion is relatively poor.
