32.9.1 Resetting the Defaults Via CLI Command

If you know the password, you can reload the factory-default configuration file via Command
Line Interface (CLI) command. Use the following procedure.
1 Connect to the console port using a computer with terminal emulation software. See the
chapter on hardware connections for details.
2 Enter your password.
3 Type config default.
4 Type
y
system restart! proceed(y/n)? >)?
5 After restarting, the MSC is re-initialized with a default configuration file the default user
name of "admin" and password of "1234".
32.9.2 Resetting the Defaults Via Boot Commands
If you forget your password or cannot access the MSC, you will need to use this section to
reload the factory-default configuration file. Uploading the factory-default configuration file
replaces the current configuration file with the factory-default configuration file. This means
that you will lose all previous configurations and the speed of the console port will be reset to
the default of 9600bps with 8 data bit, no parity, one stop bit and flow control set to none. The
user name and password will also be reset to "admin" and "1234" and the IP address to
192.168.1.1.
Note: Uploading the factory default configuration file erases the MSC's entire
configuration.
Obtain the default configuration file, unzip it and save it in a folder. Use a console cable to
connect a computer with terminal emulation software to the MSC's console port. Turn the
IES-5000 off and then on to begin a session. When you turn on the IES-5000 again you will
see the initial screen. When you see the message
within 3 seconds
Do the following to restore the default configuration file.
1 Type atgd after the Enter Debug Mode message.
2 This has the MSC start up using the default configuration file.
3 After this use config save to restore the default configuration file.
32.10 Recovering the Firmware
Usually you should use FTP or the console port to upload the MSC's firmware. If the MSC
will not start up, the firmware may be lost or corrupted. Use the following procedure to upload
firmware to the MSC only when you are unable to use another method to upload firmware.
