Automatic bootstrap update

Warning! The power supply to the IP telephone must not be interrupted while the bootstrap
is being updated. A loss of power or a reset during this phase will make the telephone unus-
able.
LED status messages:
While the bootstrap is being downloaded, the LEDs display status messages. This involves
all LEDs.
Continuously on
Rapid flashing (50 ms on / 50 ms off)
Slow flashing
(500 ms on / 500 ms off)
Brief flashing
(200 ms off / 50 ms on)
Interrupted rapid flashing (500 ms rapid
flashing / 500 ms off)

Bootstrap file being loaded (normal procedure)
New bootstrap being written to flash memory (normal procedure)
Cause: Corrupt data in the flash memory after writing –> old bootstrap is rewritten to flash
memory.
Effect: Updating has not taken place; old bootstrap remains in the IP telephone; tele-
phone will work after a reset.
Remedy: Internal problem with telephone; start bootstrap update procedure again.
Cause: Something wrong with the bootstrap file.
Effect: Updating has not taken place; old bootstrap remains in the IP telephone; tele-
phone will work after a reset.
Remedy: Check the bootstrap file. It might not be the right one for the hardware.
Cause: Bootstrap can no longer function properly; corrupted data in the flash memory.
Remedy: Do not interrupt power supply; start bootstrap update procedure again.
