Service operation
The descriptions of the service operations in this manual refer to the current software and
hardware of the T3 IP telephone. Any notes which may be found regarding older software or
hardware should be interpreted as follows:
Hardware
Level I: Old hardware with hub/repeater, chipset T8301/02
Level II: "New hardware" with switch, chipset T8300U
Software:
A –package: Older version (11/2003): for Level I hardware only
A+ –package: Provisional software: all of A package, plus support switch, no series soft-
ware; for Level II hardware only).
B –package: New software, features like ISDN–B package plus Vlan, redundancy etc,
(now supported by HW); for Hardware Level 1 and II (Level 1 with limitations (switch,
VLAN,...))
C package: New Software, features such as ISDN B package plus Secure
communication, 802.1X (supplicant, forwarding), BPDU–forwarding; for hardware Level
II.
C–package step III: New software, performance features like C–package plus DHCP
on/off during booting, adjustable TCP port address, phone network name includes MAC
address, different TOS bytes for voice signals and signalling, PUM, support for secure
FTP, maintenance server (VMM, IP Admin, VoIP Manager connections) supports TLS,
gatekeeper selected on log–in, display for secure communication, VMM configuration,
permanent "measurements on PC port".
