RTCP (Realtime Transport Control Protocol)

RTCP protocol constantly supplies current information about the quality of the voice data in
the network. This feedback allows the system administrator to manually adapt your data
stream to network conditions (for example, by reducing the data rate in the case of poor
QoS) and to locate faults. To do so, RTCP periodically transmits so–called sender reports
(SR) and receiver reports (RR). The reports received are saved for statistical purposes.
(For more detailed information about RTCP: RTP – A Transport Protocol for Real–Time Ap-
plications, RFC1889, January 1996)
Activation of RTCP and the associated logging can be set in the audit menu. The data for
each call can be totaled up and displayed in the journal. A detailed presentation is included
in the logging – when an FTP server is specified – where the data can then be saved in csv
format.
2.19.1

Activating RTCP logging

Open the audit menu.
Scroll to menu item RTCP . Confirm selection.
Select menu item on and confirm.
Quit menu.
From now on RTCP data will be included in logging. In the journal (the last 20 calls) you can
view the corresponding entry in the "Audio data" sub–menu.
If no RTCP data is displayed, this means it could not be determined. Possible reasons:
- Multiple connections
- Call duration was too short
