2 Service operation

If the IP address assigned for the service life of the IP telephone (leasing period) can-
not be renewed, then the IP telephone will no longer have a valid IP address and will
not work. A message to this effect appears on the IP telephone display.
•
If the IP telephone is assigned a new IP address by the DHCP server for its service
life, this will reset the IP telephone and the corresponding message will appear on the
display.
•
If the IP telephone does not have a valid IP address, it will automatically reset after a
minute and then restart the commissioning procedure.
(b) The software file (application) saved in the flash memory is decompressed and loaded
into the main memory. The message "Booting from flash:" then appears in the display with
the appropriate version name of the software.
Note:
•
If the IP telephone cannot find any valid software in the flash memory, it will autono-
mously starts a software download using the FTP settings currently held in the flash
memory and using the file name on the "DEFAULT" line of the configuration file saved
in the flash memory.
