You can tell which Avaya telephone system your telephone is connected to as fol- lows: When logging in for the first time: If your telephone is connected to the Integral 5, a log-in window appears first in which you can enter your extension number and PIN.

    Accepting Calls Making calls as usual You can pick up the phone as usual and talk to the caller. Accepting Calls When another user is called within your system, you can pick up the call to your tele- phone. It is also possible to accept calls with the key Monitoring / Hands-free and continue telephoning with the handset on the hook.

    Making calls as usual Calling someone You can telephone as usual inside and outside of the system: Directly select the Calling someone internal extension code or external call number. You can call (redial) the 5 last external phone numbers you have dialled and select function keys for frequently required phone numbers.

This is called Calling Line Identification Presentation (CLIP).

You can talk to two call partners at the same time (three-party conference). You can integrate a new call partner directly into the conference or call via consulta- tion call in order to previously speak to this call partner individually.

    Monitoring and handsfree You can switch on the loudspeaker of your telephone in order to hear your partner Monitoring and handsfree aloud in the room. You can also call someone in the hands-free mode. You don’t need to pick up the headset.

Extended call display You can set your telephone to always display not only the caller’s number or name but the number which they dialled. This tells you whether the caller wants to speak to service or the workshop, for example.

    Customizing the telephone Settings for your telephone system You can perform many of the settings for your telephone system from your Integral Settings for your telephone system T3 Compact telephone The settings apply to all the telephones in your system: External callers can often reach your company using various different numbers.
  • Page 91 • An answering station is not absolutely essential. • If no answering station is allocated to the number, a general call takes place. • All exchange lines can be assigned to one telephone as the sole answering sta- tion. • You can also simply press the corresponding line key instead of entering the line number.

    IP-specific settings The IP-specific settings are usually set by the Avaya Service or your telecommunica- IP-specific settings tions systems administrator. You will subsequently find an overview of the settings possible as well as the procedure to follow in case of errors.
