SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol)

Avaya T3 IP telephones of Level 2 and upwards have a built–in SNMP agent. This allows
you to access telephone data via the SNMP protocol (versions 1 and 2c). This data is orga-
nized using the so–called MIB (Management Information Base) tree structure.
Private data (Private MIB) were defined. The address (Object Identifier) of the private ten-
ovis MIB in the MIB tree structure is 1.3.6.1.4.1.18054. Only a reading access is implement-
ed in step 2.
Access to the SNMP agent in the phone is available with various tools (e.g. HP OpenView
and Network Management Console (→ S. LEERER MERKER)). Each tool has its own way
of showing the received phone data.
