VLAN
Avaya T3 IP telephones of level 2 and upwards have a built–in switch. This does away with
the limitations of the old platform (for example, the hub only supported half–duplex).
This internal switch can be configured by any one of three methods:
•
via the audit menu
•
via web terminal
•
via TCM (see the TCM service manual)
If you configure the VLAN incorrectly (bit rate, duplex mode), this may restrict or
even prevent your IP telephone or connected PC from working!

Settings in the audit menu
Specifying VLAN ID
First of all you must specify the ID which is used for identifying each VLAN and which is
transferred as part of the voice data packet. The switch in the IP telephone supports up to
four VLAN's.
Open the audit menu.
Scroll to the menu item Port settings .
Confirm selection.
Scroll to the menu item VLAN settings .
