Changing the telephone

As soon as they have logged in to any IP telephone with their call number, users should
have their own telephone book data and telephone settings (customer data) at their dis-
posal. For this to happen, data must be saved on a central FTP server from where it can be
accessed by any telephone.
Procedure at initial login:
At the telephone, the user logs in with his PIN and call number. As yet there are no custom-
er data on the FTP server. The user is warned by means of a general error message in an
information window.
Procedure at logging out:
On the IP telephone the user logs out using the PIN. Customer–data is stored on the FTP
server. Next, the settings are initialized in the IP telephone and the initial state restored.
Hardware–dependent customer data remains in the IP telephone (such as the telephone
ID).
Procedure when logging back in:
On the IP telephone, the user logs in with the PIN and call number. Customer–data is
loaded from the FTP server.
Personal settings such as key assignments, PIN's, telephone book, and so on, remain in
force as long as the user is logged in.
On the FTP server the customer data files are designated <Call Number>.tid.
The telephone book files are called "<Call Number>.etb".
