Setting the 802.1X credentials

The 802.1X protocol makes it possible that the access to the network component ports de-
pend on an authentication. In this way unauthorized access of e.g. IP telephones to the IP
network is more difficult. The authentication is made through "credentials". In the Network
the credentials are checked by a Radius Server.
If during the commissioning of the T3 IP telephone, its credentials are recognized as suffi-
cient, it gets access to the IP network through the switch port to which it is connected. If the
authenticatio has been rejected, the message "802.1X authentification error" appears.
The credentials default value is derived from the telephone's MAC address. They remain
unchanged even in case of SW update. The default PIN is "0000".
If you wish to save changes to the credentials you must also change the password at the
same time. The new password may, however, be identical with the old one.
