2 Service operation

If a specific image is not found in the flash memory, or is defective and subsequently
aborts a SW download, then "No software loaded" is displayed (as in the former boot-
straps). No alternative image available in the flash memory is started. If necessary, a
commissioning with emergency downloading will be successful (→ S. 54).

If a software download is started locally on a T3 IP telephone that has no software or has
Stimulus software, for aprox. 3 minutes the message "Download Demand" appears on
the display (the telephone is waiting for a message from the PABX). You can cancel the
waiting time pressing the upper right function key.

When it is determined during the software download that there is not enough space in
the flash memory then the download process is aborted and the area is useless. No
checks are made on the size of the SW to be loaded (also the case with former boot-
straps).

A functioning image can be destroyed when manipulating the flash size for an image.
The admin tool should therefore only be used by extremely experienced users for this
purpose.
•
New display specifications under "Booting from Flash":
"unknown": first booting of a preinstalled image. Telephone loads the activated image
from the flash memory for the first time after production (display only in production
(test–SW) and after unpacking the telephone). The SW version is displayed during the
next booting.
"empty": Activated image is useless. The downloading of an image in the activated area
has failed.
