If both connections to the central office provide the same bandwidth, then
your router will calculate two routes to the central office that have the same
metric. However, without load sharing, the router will only be able to add one
of these routes in its routing table, and one of the connections will be not be
used. You should enable load sharing, effectively doubling the bandwidth to
the central office.
You enter this command:
ProCurve(config)# ip load-sharing per-destination
Figure 13-29 shows the routing table for this router. Note that both routes have
the same metric and administrative distance.
Codes: C - connected, S - static, R - RIP, O - OSPF, B - BGP
IA - OSPF inter area, N1 - OSPF NSSA external type 1
