Complete these steps to configure PIM-SM on the Berlin router:
1.
Enable PIM-SM on the router's LAN and WAN interfaces. For the connec-
tion to Mannheim, enable PIM-SM on the tunnel interface.
Berlin(config)# interface eth 0/1
Berlin(config-eth 0/1)# ip pim sparse-mode
Berlin(config-eth 0/1)# interface eth 0/2
Berlin(config-eth 0/2)# ip pim sparse-mode
Berlin(config-eth 0/2)# interface fr 1.1
Berlin(config-fr 1.1)# ip pim sparse-mode
Berlin(config-fr 1.1)# interface fr 1.2
Berlin(config-fr 1.2)# ip pim sparse-mode
Berlin(config-fr 1.2)# interface tunnel 1
Berlin(config-tunnel 1)# ip pim sparse-mode
Berlin(config-tunnel 1)# exit
2.
Access the PIM sparse configuration mode context and configure this
router as the RP.
Berlin(config)# router pim-sparse
Berlin(config-pim-sparse)# rp-address 192.168.127.1
Berlin(config-pim-sparse)# exit
3.
Save your configurations.
Berlin(config)# do write memory
Mannheim
The Mannheim router will receive multicasts from sources at the Berlin
headquarters. Multicasts will be sent over the Frame Relay network, not over
the ISDN connections to the branch offices. In this example, the Mannheim
router must receive the multicasts through a GRE tunnel because it connects
through a PPPoE connection on an external network.
These steps configure PIM-SM on the Mannheim router:
1.
Enable PIM-SM on the router's Ethernet and tunnel interfaces.
Mannheim(config)# interface eth 0/1
Mannheim(config-eth 0/1)# ip pim sparse-mode
Mannheim(config-eth 0/1)# interface eth 0/2
Mannheim(config-eth 0/2)# ip pim sparse-mode
Mannheim(config-eth 0/2)# interface tunnel 1
Mannheim(config-tunnel 1)# ip pim sparse-mode
Mannheim(config-tunnel 1)# exit
