Configuring Access Control from the
Web Browser Interface
If you use the Web browser interface to configure access controls on router
interfaces, you must first enable the Secure Router OS firewall. In the left
navigation bar, select Firewall > General Firewall. Under Configuration for
Firewall, select the Enable box and click Apply.
You can then begin to configure security zones—the term used for access
control policies (ACPs) in the Web browser interface. For more information
about ACPs, see Chapter 5: Applying Access Control to Router Interfaces.
If you configure access control lists (ACLs) from the CLI and apply these ACLs
directly to a router interface, you do not need to enable the Secure Router OS
firewall. The firewall is required when you use ACLs in conjunction with ACPs.
